
Abrasive Wheels
Abrasive wheels come in a vast range of shapes and sizes and are used in numerous applications in the workplace including cutting, grinding and fettling.
This course aims to ensure that those using abrasive wheels are able to do so safely and in accordance with current best practice and legal requirements.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Identify the different types of abrasive wheels available on the market
- Interpret the marking on abrasive wheels in order to ensure that they select the correct wheel for the task
- Safely mount abrasive wheels
- Inspect abrasive wheels and take action where faults are found
- Inspect abrasive wheel equipment.

This is a half day course
Location
The course can be undertaken at one of our network of training centres or at your premises*
Course structure
The course is a combination of classroom based theory, including a multiple choice exam, followed by a practical session involving the mounting of abrasive wheels and the inspection of various tools
Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements for this course, although the ability to communicate in English along with a basic understanding of workplace safety would be beneficial.
Certification
On completion of training an in-house certificate will be awarded.
