The West Midlands Combined Authority is working in Partnership with Total Training Company (UK) Ltd to deliver the Construction Gateway – an exciting up to four week programme developed to give you the skills to start work. You will gain recognised qualifications and the work experience you need for a great career in construction.
Through Construction Gateway, you’ll achieve certifications so you’re ready to work. This includes a combination of the below, depending on your experience and the needs of the employer;
- Job Interview Coaching
- Construction Health & Safety
- CSCS Touchscreen Training & Test
- Manual Handling
- Abrasive Wheels
- C.A.T. & Genny
- Asbestos Awareness
- First Aid at Work
- Confined Spaces
- CPCS Trained Operator Card: Forward Tipping Dumper
- Job Interview with a local employer
Candidates must show evidence of the following:
• Motivation to learn new skills and be part of a fantastic new job opportunity.
• Be dedicated to attend all the training sessions.
• Be passionate and eager to find a job.
*Candidates must be able to provide valid identification in the form of a passport or UK driving licence.
How to get involved?
Step 1: Tell your work coach at the Job Centre that you want to boost your skills through construction. They’ll invite you to an informal information session.
Step 2: Attend an information session with Total Training Company (UK) Ltd and the National Careers Service to find out more and get your questions answered.
Step 3: Learn, gain qualifications and get a guaranteed job interview.
