Total Training (UK) Ltd was established by both Michael Smith and John Smith who come from a family owned construction business of over two decades, having hands on experience in both construction and construction training. They established Prestige Tool Hire Company in 2001 which catered to the construction industry, and having realised the potential of the construction industry as a vital source of economic growth and the shortage of skills that this industry was facing in terms of skilled employees they formed Total Training. Total training was started as a division of Prestige Hire to deliver accredited training for the construction industry in 2010 and received accreditation from various awarding bodies in the fields of construction and logistics. Initially Total Training concentrated solely on commercial training but from 2013 we started working with colleges and other training providers to deliver publicly funded training to our clients and to help our delegates get sustainable jobs in the construction and logistics industries, where there is still a huge skills shortage. Following the success of Total Training as a division of Prestige Hire, Total Training (UK) Ltd was registered as an independent company in 2014. John Smith heads the company as its Managing Director and Michael Smith is Director of the company.
Today Total Training (UK) Ltd has its head offices in Birmingham as well as an offsite training site with seven acres of land to deliver hands on training of heavy machinery in Solihull and serving the North of the country is a huge branch in Hartlepool, as well as a vast network of sites and partner companies throughout the UK. Both Michael and John with their wealth of experience have developed Total Training (UK) Ltd into a vital growth agent for the UK’s economy by imparting the right advice and training to individuals and employers and by helping people into sustainable jobs through traineeships, apprenticeships and ensuring career growth through continued training, and thus making a positive difference to their lives.
